Power Point, Paint and Poseies
Ok, here it is. I'm back on line again. From Christmas to Easter is crazy. Wanted to share pictures on this entry, but can't seem to get the cameras to work. Daughter Anna just sent a Kodak Easy-share for me to keep in my purse, but all of my energizer batteries are de-energized! Tried to use my video camera, but it's out of juice to and won't connect with the computer unless it has full power. So here I am, imageless, but eager to share again the latest.
Over the last few months I have been experiementing with and using power point for my sermons. It has added a whole new dimension to preaching for me. Preparing each sermon now is a little like creating a production - without animation and the subtitles. Although, I am working on the animation part. The congregations seem to like it too. The one Church has gone completely to Power Point for all parts of the service. The other is more hesitant and reluctant to hide the beautiful stain glass window over the altar with the huge, oversized, rediculously mega gargantuan overhead projector screen (did I say it was big?). But they're warming up to it.
Since serving these two churches, I have learned so many new things. It is a wonderfu (all be it exhausting experience) for which I most grateful.
My newest project at home (started a couple of weeks ago) is the repainting of Drew's room. It is going from the interior of a computer tower, to pastoral scenes of Iowa. The theme is "domestic animals" (cattle, sheep, chickens, raptors -just kidding), with all four seasons portrayed in the space of a day: from a winter sunrise and a starlit late autumn night (full moon included). I plan on including various places in that remind me of special times and the people I love. Hopefully, I'll be able tomorrow night to give a sneak peak at the room's progress.
Of course there is plenty of gardening to do. Those beautiful terraces need weeding, and the pond needs attention. I hope to put in a small nearly self-watering veggie garden, and begin work on enclosed evening garden on the north side of the house which will inclued a small pool (to harbor tropical fish for the summer months.)
So there will be pictures in the making!
I am so thankful for every day. Each day brings it's own challenges and rewards. God is good. Truly Good.
